Hi, I’m Stef! The founder of Bearfie & Me.
Animals have always been a big part of my life, and today my home is shared with Sofie, Bear, Miley and Louie, a lively little mix that definitely keeps things interesting.
My passion for animal care really grew when Sofie arrived in 2020. She sparked my interest in canine behaviour, health and training, especially Border Collies. Bear joined us in 2021, introducing me even further to puppy development, training and agility.
That same year, my love for dressing Sofie and Bear up turned into a little Etsy shop selling bandanas and bows, and Bearfie & Me was born.
Then came Miley, a tiny kitten I rescued who very quickly became my little diva. Becoming a cat mum gave me a whole new appreciation for cats and their very different personalities and needs, so don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten about our feline friends! Now we also have Louie, the newest addition to the family.
In 2022, I started working at a boarding kennel and cattery before moving into veterinary clinic placements, where I completely fell in love with veterinary nursing.
Since qualifying, I’ve gained experience across surgery, orthopaedics, neonatal care, wound management, post operative recovery and chronic care. Surgical nursing and post op care is definitely one of my favourite areas, if a vet needs a nurse to scrub in, I’m usually already there. Or if there is nurse consults to see how your pet is going on new medications or post checks, I’m usually already cuddling your baby!
One of the biggest things nursing has taught me is that care doesn’t stop when your pet leaves the clinic. So much of their recovery and ongoing care happens at home, and owners deserve to feel confident and supported through it.
That’s what inspired me to expand Bearfie & Me into mobile veterinary nursing services, bringing practical nursing support into your home, spending more time getting to know you and your pet, and working alongside your veterinary team when needed.

Meet the Stars — Sofie & Bear 🐾
Every great brand has a story and ours begins with Sofie and Bear.
Sofie joined our family in 2020 and quickly taught me the realities of caring for a working breed behaviour, enrichment, coat care and long‑term health needs. Her heart condition, skin sensitivities and classic Border Collie quirks have shaped much of my understanding of ongoing, at‑home care.
Bear arrived in 2021 with a completely different personality. Through two years of agility training together, he showed me how confidence building, mental stimulation and structured activity help dogs truly thrive.
The name Bearfie & Me simply combines their names, Bear + Sofie and reflects the two dogs who sparked my passion for animal care. The “& Me” represents the human side of the bond we share with our pets and the cute matching accessories we offer!
Meet Caitlin

I’m Caitlin, Lead Veterinary Nurse at Bearfie & Me. I’ve known from a very young age that I wanted to build a life around caring for animals. Growing up, I was always surrounded by pets birds, hermit crabs, fish, but my love for animals truly grew in 2016 when I was gifted my cat, Sarina, for my birthday. She quickly became my whole world, and before long, two more cats joined our little family.
In 2023, I began working in an animal shelter, where I developed a real passion for animal behaviour, welfare and helping animals find their second chance. I also fostered young kittens, which naturally led to a foster fail of my own. Since then, I’ve gained experience working in veterinary clinics and caring for a wide range of animals, including cats, dogs, rabbits and livestock.
During my time in clinic, I discovered a strong interest in surgery and anaesthesia. I especially love being involved throughout the entire surgical process from scrubbing in and assisting during procedures to closely monitoring patients through their recovery. Emergency care is another area I’m passionate about, particularly being on the frontline to provide first aid when animals need it most.
I’m also very passionate about puppy socialisation and early training. Helping young animals build confidence and positive foundations sets them up to become happy, well adjusted adult dogs, and it’s something I truly enjoy being part of.
Above all, I believe animal care should be fear free, gentle and positive. I’m committed to understanding behaviour, helping animals feel safe during treatment, and educating owners on how to better read and communicate with their pets. My goal is to help people understand not just how to care for their animals, but how to see the world a little more from their perspective.
And that’s exactly what I hope to bring to Bearfie & Me’s mobile veterinary nursing services supportive, behaviour aware care that helps owners feel confident at home, strengthens the bond they share with their pets, and makes every step of treatment calmer, kinder and easier for everyone involved.
